wires wires wires

ok im doing the Jim Oaks overhead explorer console install on my 94 ranger
pulled from 99 explorer everything is going great until the wires doing trial runs before i button it up but can not get wiring to keep up
ok i can get power to light visors and to map/courtesy light and i know which one go to temp gauge but can not get power to the display
and i dont know if there is a vss wire to tap into on my truck or where to look or if i really need it anything please

there are three wires that do nothing when i put power to them
the power that i mean is one of three one is a constant one is a key on and when is dimmer when the lights are on they will light up visor and map light but nothing on display for temp and direction should they light up with power or do i need to get a diffrent console

The temp will have to originate from a digital sensor to start with to translate to a digital read out I would assume.
Direction lights ? Do you mean directional arrows that light up with corresponding blinkers ?
