Ight guys. Got a problem here. I bought my uncles 1995 2wd Ranger 5 spd with a 2.3 for $300 with a thrown rod in the motor. lol. I swapped the motor with one with less miles and runs like a charm, but anywho, I'm going through a lot of the small problems the truck had that he never took the time to fix. So I'm at the wipers. I measured the input power at the motor and saw I was getting power to the wiper motor and diagnosed the old motor as a bad motor, So I went and got a new one returning the old motor for a core. Plugged in the new motor, still doesnt work :( So I check all the fuses and relays and they're all good and the wipers still dont work. I'm stuck here. I'm thinking its going to be the switch itself next, but I'm tired of throwing parts at it. Just seeing what yall think I should go through next. Thanks in advance for the help yall.

Sure your new motor works? You know how rebuilt parts are these days. I haven't had any problems with the wipers on my B4000 but on some other vehicles I have had to open the box with the gearing and clean the switch that allows your wipers to return to parked position. Otherwise try looking on a wiring diagram to see if you have all voltages where they are supposed to be.

hmm. I'm definitely sure I've got power at the motor, but then again it is a 6 pin connector so I should go through and see where all the power and grounds are. Thanks for the site link. I'll check it out. Any more suggestions guys?

How can I drive without my windshield wipers?

Rain-X the windshield.

don't forget the wipers need more than one feed. There is one continuous 12v and another that is switched. You'll need the diagram for your vehicle as things might be different on the newer trucks.

lol. My Uncles been driving this truck 10 years with out windshield wipers. Rain-x FTW, but I will not be driving it with out them cause I'm young, and I like my life :icon_thumby:

Not sure on your truck but normally you have three componente the switch the governer and the motor maybe you have a bad ground to the governor. On earlier models the governor is on the bulkhead by the fuse block I hear later models is under the dash to the right of the steering column. You can probably get one cheap at the bone yard to swap and decide if you want to get new if it works.

Ok. Little update. I took apart the wiper switch itself inside the truck. I took the little end off of the handle and took apart the switch and found real dirty grease, so I took a q-tip with brake cleaner on it and cleaned out all the nasty grease really good and got the 4 little prongs nice and shiny, put it back together and still no luck :annoyed:. So I went back to the relays under the hood and took both relays out and put two jumper wires from the 3 pin to the 5 pin spot of the relays on both relay connection spots to jump power out to the motor itself and BINGO, the motor started up! But the switch itslef did nothing when I tried to go from off to run to high while they were jumped off, which I think is normal becuase I pretty much by passed it. So would it be correct to assume that my problem lays in the switch itself? Or is there somewhere else the power could be stopping? Thanks again for the great support here guys, this is very frustrating. lol

Good you checked the end and beginning if the circuit so to speak so you eliminated the motor good. But there is still the while circuit where it could have failed so check the multifunction switch to make sure items getting power in all the right places. Check for resistance and continuity on that circuit. If that checks out then check fit continuity on the wires going from that to the relay...you'll find your answer for sure.
