My credo
I can break almost anything.
Burnt the tranny last year in my 91' w 3.0, OD slushbox. I stumbled across this Windsor when a buddy asked me to recycle a 76' E150 Camper van. I drove it to shop & harvested the drive train prior to recycle. I had mistakenly assumed it was 302.
That was 9 months ago. Since then motor/tranny has been in shop on pallet. Santa brought me a Jegs V8 install kit for Ranger. Motor/tranny has EXTREMELY low hrs. New timing chain/all new gaskets & some spray cans.
Headers are the Hedmans that came in Jegs kit. Intake from what I'm not sure, @ least it's aluminum, Saved 50 lbs. Keeping it 2 barrel on purpose. Rebuilt Motorcrap carb. I'm thinking sleeper/tow rig for my ATV/dirt bike trailer. Should be a hoot.
Install to follow.

Yep that's the one:headbang:

Hey big terry, looking forward to the build here. Did u pick up a dual sump oil pan? The one on the engine I don't think will work for the swap.

Sir Windsor of Fomoco

Here's the ailing patient.:shok: Not sure on the oil pan yet. This Windsor came from E150 camper van dealio. We'll get er' in there for sure. Thus far we've blocked off fuel pump, installed remote oil filter adapter, tore down motor to shortblock. Cylinders still show crosshatch. ZERO sludge in pan/heads etc. New timing chain, complete gasket set. New distributor/wires from Summit. I believe this motor had been rebuilt/or extremely low miles. C6 looks great also. Very little shards in pan. Gonna' run Lucas synthetic in slushbox. Sir Windsor gets the good stuff for oil; racing blood w/zinc additives. Again no 4 barrel. Not making a tuner car killer.

Sir Windsor lives

Several years in the making, including an older 87' Ranger as the recipient. Rear axle from V8 Sploder. Aftermarket radiator, saginaw PS pump from donor van.Started this ordeal in June of 2015. It's been challenging for sure. I compromised the frame on the 91'. Had to find another willing participant. Found the 87' on CL for $150. 4 banger was about dead in 87', drove it onto trailer though. This project has been hugely satisfying cuz' my son & I never gave up. The most expensive part on this project was the heavy wall driveline @ just under $400.

Yes Sir you were correct. Ended up w/Ford Motorsports rear sump pan/pump/pickup. I believe for a Fox body Stang.

Awesome build!

What are you running for an ignition?

What is wrong with your stock speedometer cable? Depending on what gear is in your trans you may need to change the gear on your cable to get the speedo to read correctly.

Thank you !

The 87' Ranger speedo cable doesnt align properly w/C6 internals. It was a manual trans.
The Dizzy is a Pertronix Flame Thrower D134610.
