both left and right top corners are leaking at the windshield. it looks like its the little black panels that run around the windshield and the seals are broken... where can i get new ones? cant find em anywhere and dont wanna get any at the junkyard..

thanks...

The windshield on these trucks is "glued" in..... a thick bead of silicone is laid down, then the windshield is set on top of that.... Mine did the same thing, all i did was pulled the window trim off (it is held on with little clips that require a special tool to remove them. The tool should be available at one of your local auto parts stores)..... Be sure to clean out all the dirt and crap thats collected under that trim piece( I used alcohol to be sure I had a good clen surface to work with after I cleaned it all out), then get a tube of windshield sealant and, with a caulking gun, inject the sealant into the corners that are leaking and that should cure your water leak...... I did mine a year and a half ago and haven't had a problem with any more water leaks!!!!!

try LMC truck to get the new parts.

i'd take the above posters advice, as he's gone through the process before.

i've also heard of those corners rusting out, so you should check that out as well.

good luck with the rain preventative measures.

Its not silicone that is used to hold in a windshield, it is urethane.

Also check the rain gutters on your 89 for cracking in the seam sealer. This will let water in where you mention, I know mine does. My gutters are cracked from hitting trees.
