Has anyone changed doors from manual to power windows and can you tell me how?

I got mine from a rolled 97. Got the full door so I could get the switches and door panels. Also got the electric mirrors and door locks but never hooked them up as I dont have the right stuff to do so. Anyhow get the wire harness if possible and the GEM and all as it makes it easier. I could not get the stuff from under the dash so I got from the cab side the wire harness and made my own to hook up. Spliced enough wire to run new relays for the doors and mirrors. Bought a wire diagram off the net to see how to run the wires. Run wires from the battery thru a fuse block switches are hot all time but that is no biggie. Replacement switches are $$ if buying from dealer. The mirrors are just aftermarket replacements but work ok.

Which year Ranger?

You can use factory wiring or do your own simpler wiring
You will need the factory regulators with electric motors and the door panels with the switches either way, if you want the factory "look"

If you just want "power" windows there are universal kits to convert manual windows to power windows, they start at around $50 for 2 doors
Some offer Master/Slave setup some are just power windows, independent

Depending on the year, Ranger power windows were wired with and without relays and with or without "one touch"(rolls down drivers window all the way by pressing Down button one time)

But you can chose to by pass one touch system which makes wiring much easier.

Below is an example of power window wiring in 1995 Ranger with one touch
It requires GEM module and One Touch module, and replacement of current GEM module if you have a 1995 or up Ranger, manual window GEM won't have internal circuit for power windows.
And you will need the wiring harness for the power windows of that year GEM

I would use a Main Relay just for safety, and up to you if you want One Touch or not
If you look at the Master drivers door switch, in the diagram, the drivers window is the switch on the left, it has that maze of wires so the One Touch will work.
But for just the power window function, #3 Tan wire would connect to #1 Red motor wire, thats it, one touch by-passed

Basic wiring is
Two Power wires from Fused Relay, 20-30amp, to Master switch and Slave switch(passenger door)
Ground wire at Master switch, Cab Ground don't use door

Two wires from Master to Slave(door to door)

And of course each motor needs two wires to its door switch

Joey actually posted a similar request in the Non RBV section and it is for a 1990's E-150 Van that he has replaced the driver side door with one from a vehicle with power windows.

I suggested something similar like finding the connector from the door that leads to the power distribution and figure out if he can swap the whole harness or if it would require wiring in a relay.

Unless he has already acquired the other door it would only be for the driver side.
