Hey I wanna put tint on my 03 ranger with a rear sliding window. If you dont mind sending me pics of yours and where you got it done and how much it cost that would be great thanks.

Heres older pics of my 94. 19% on the doors and 10% on the slider. Done by a local shop. charged like $190 because its illegal here. believe the tint is 3M and also has a lifetime warranty.

You can see where they were in the middle of tinting the slider. the far left pane is still stock in the pic

What is the reason for poor nightime visibility through tint? I have seen some newer model vehicles with dark tinted windows, that don't appear all that dark when your looking out of them. Something I'm not understanding here?

I can see through mine great at night, not much darker looking out than before the tint.

The sun/headlight glare reduction is dramatic, IMO tint increases safety due to less blinding situations.

i have 20% on my sides ,2.5% on my excab ,5% on my rear window and a 5% tint strip on my windsheild

30% all the way around..including the full windshield and it looks way darker than 30%. I did it myself. I work out of my house and I am about 40 miles from Alpharetta and could do it for you...I use LLumar and I have 5%, 20% and 30%. Let me know if you are interested...Being near the ATL though there are tons of credible shops in your area..just google it.

your truck just made me decide on painting that trim above the headlights black....been considering but never actually seen it....looks great....and so does your tint.

After a deer totaled the front of my truck, I ordered all the parts at once to patch it back together. The two headlight brows came in first, and were semi-gloss black. I was real excited about having a blacked out front end until my grill came in, and was painted gloss battleship grey.

But that truck makes me consider pulling the grill one evening and rattle canning it black for the hell of it.

Where'd you get that billet insert in the lower grill opening?

Thanks for the comments guys...I wanted to breakup all the blue in the front and I figured since the rear bumper had the black plastic on it I would spray the Front bumper cover and the grill surround. The front bumper is from a Mercury Mountaineer so the insert is an Explorer billet insert. Check out my build thread or album link...This truck was just a plain xlt stepside..I rebuilt it from the ground up.
OH and the black paint is just engine wrinkle coating from a rattle can to match the rear bumper texture from VHT @ autozone

Is that Mountaineer bumper a bolt on? If it is I'll be on the lookout for one.

Your truck actually looked better than mine after my grandpa hit the deer. No driver's headlight, signal, headlight ring, broke the clips off the passenger headlight. Grill busted in half. Core support bent and pushed backwards. Header panel busted all to hell. Hood pushed in, Driver's fender mangled, rubbing the tire, and pushed into the leading edge of the door. Bumper bracket's bent, and bumper grabbing the tire. Hit so hard that it knocked loose rust and scale in the coolant system and plugged the heater core and caused the thermostat to stick open.

Totaled the truck pretty much. Between the both of us we managed to fix every bit of it. You could never tell by looking at it that it's ever been in an accident.

No its not a direct bolt on...Had to install Ranger bumper brackets on it and make 2 supports for each end...with metal straps...On a scale of 1-10 it was a 4..So its not that bad to make it work.

That doesn't sound too bad. My bumper is slightly tweaked, and one of the brackets refuses to line up correctly. You can't tell unless you look really hard, but it is annoying to me.
