First off this is my first post so i'm brand new here. I've been searching around before i registered and the following link is the only thing i could come up with that was remotely close to what i have.

http://www.therangerstation.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28284&highlight=window+spring

I have a 99 ranger and the window is stuck up. I can hear the window motor clicking but nothing. I decided to take apart the panel and found that the regulator spring was off and sitting at the bottom of my door. I have been trying to get the regulator and motor out and seem to be having a bit of trouble with this. I've heard you have to drill a hole for the third bolt that attaches the motor to the regulator but that is as far as ive been able to get.

guess my two questions are:
1. how do i get the motor and regulator out of the door and
2. how and where does the regulator spring get back on?

Thanks guys for all insight on this. Its really annoying.

You must remove the regulator and motor as a unit. Just drill the "pop rivet" loose.

You will have to replace your window regulator.
