Hey guys on my 2000 ranger the drivers window hops when you put it down. goes up smooth, but hops/jerks when going down. i greased the channel with some lithium when i first got the truck and it fixed it for a couple weeks but now its back. the truck only has 50k miles. I read people say its just a problem with the rangers even from the factory, but there has to be SOMETHING that will fix it? let me know what u guys have done to get rid of this annoying chatter! Thanks!

Replace the felt and the regulator. The problem has to be in one or the other.

My 06 has done it since I've had it. Has 140k on it now, hasn't really given much problems besides being annoying.it comes and goes also, I think it may be dependant on the weather.

Sent from my computer phone.

Use silicone lubricant on your window seals. It repels water and revitalizes the rubber..
Petroleum products will harden the rubber...

I was told this back in the early 90's and it had kept my windows working good.

But it could all be a load of bull.
So try it and decide for your self.
(it even claims it on the cans I buy)

I know the felt dries out and silicone spray helps, but it can get grease smears all over the windows.

I have this issue in my RBVs and I know it's because the regulators are getting old and loose.

I remember I read a post on here quite a while ago where someone had to replace a rivet in the scissor mechanism (or somewhere) and they replaced it with a bolt to fix a wonky window winder wonderfully...weally!

I put lithium grease on all moving parts and have sprayed the silicone down the guide channels without getting too much slop on the windows...haven't had a problem with my windows on this truck other than the flop...

I think I need new rubber on the driver's door though...
