what size of winch would i need for my 88 super cab

8,000# winch should do it for you. capacity should be twice the weight of your truck and that is the rule of thumb most go by.

I think Warn recommends 1.5 times the weight, but either way I agree with 8k. You can always go more if you want lol.

there have been plenty of times I was thankful that I had a 9000 lb winch on my rig. Between pulling others, as well as myself out, a good winch is something youll never regret having.

I have a 6000# ramsey on my 90, getting ready to have it on my 94. Never had problem pulling it out. The thing never even grunted pulling.
