winch

so im thinking about putting a winch behind the factory front bumper. has anyone here done that or seen it done on a ranger? not really a big fan of spending alot of money on a brush guard to mount a winch on and the winch style brush guards arent really that attractive in my opinion. i thought about a road armor style bumper but not sure how that look with a body lift. so if any one has some insight on the mounting of a winch behind the bumper that be awesome thanks guys

Mine is a little unconventional but it works.

My truck has a 3" body lift, so there is a bit more space under the front.

Now I see yours is a newer model. Eh I'll pic whore, since you asked generally about Ranger . .

make sure to have a good winch plate, mounted straight to the frame... don't just bolt it to your bumper.

I was thinking about building a winch bumper but then got to looking at doing the receiver style. There is a great advantage to the receiver style in if you ain't on the trail you ain't draggin' all that extra weight around. Then there is the fact that you can hook it into the front or rear depending on which way you need to pull.

i plan on mounting it to the frame i just didnt know if there is gonna be fitment issues around the radiator and what not.
