Rebadged mazda trucks ford sold under ford name untill 82 when the ranger came about.

Dont see many anymore. They didnt share anything in common with the ranger, and the ranger was a much better truck.

I saw a 1980 in the pull a part last year....

The yugo of compact pickups. Lightweight, underpowered and quickly/easily rusts.

Not only that, but the one I had would only let the heater fan run when it was warm out. When it was really cold, something in the electrical system would open and the heater fan would not run - at the time you needed it most. I only kept it one winter and then upgraded to a Ranger.

I nearly bought one of those. I left to go on a trip and it was sold when I got back. I ended up buying the Ranger a few months later. Sounds like it worked out for the better...

Had the Mazda version, a 1984 bought used, the last year for the '78–'84 body. They liked to rust. The bed rusted through from the top just before the engine failed from a probable valvetrain problem, but this was in 2007.

My first thought it reminded me of my 80 Chevy LUV (Light Utility Vehicle)

when i used to work down along the mexico border, back in 01-04, we had a guy who worked for us who drove an old courier or mazda back and forth to mexico city and for normal daily use. he was an old dude and kept that truck very well. he loved it and even though all our company trucks were newer rangers and mazdas, he said he was never getting rid of his truck for a new big one, ha ha ha. his little tan truck was as base as those pics show them to be but it must have had hundreds of thousands of miles on it with how much he traveled back and forth the mexico city from weslaco texas. if he is still around, he is probably still driving that truck

Saw this guy back in May '21
