U-Haul's rules: The tow vehicle (base curb weight) must be 80% of the load towed. New Ranger's is 4,400 lbs for CrewCab 4x4, so trailer and cargo can't exceed 5,500 lbs. The trailer weight is 2,200 lbs, so your cargo (car) has to be 3,300 lbs or less. So, the 4k+ lb Caprice Wagon is >700 lbs overweight. Ranger could tow a lot more, but U-haul's lawyers won't let you.

To other points; u-Haul dollies and car transports both have surge brakes, so all your tow vehicle needs is 4 pin flat connector. Just don't get yourself in situation where you need to back up, uphill.
