i know there is a write up in the tech library about doing a second gen dash swap into a first gen. my question is will a 96 explorer dash fit in a first gen ranger? i can pick up a 96 explorer cheap and has a 4.0 and auto. the ball joints are shot and so is the body. if the dash will fit i would love to try this swap with the obdII system.

i put an 02 sport trac dash in a first gen before-while it wasn't exactly bolt in,the width and windshield curve were the same.(the width and profile of a '00 cougar dash is the same too-but it's way deeper)

i guess what i'm trying to say here is that for basic fit,they've kept most dimentions constant...but don't expect the screws and ducts to line up.
