My reg cab ranger has a 60/40 I love it so I can smash 3 people in there if I have to but its wore out and I hate the lack of leg room. I have a very nice set of buckts from an 89 BII. Would I gain anything swaping to to buckets?

Technically no. Even though the seat mount hole may be in a different position the seat will stay just about the same. You may get an inch or 2 if you move the new seat farther back and tap new holes in the bottom of the new seat to match your track.

Course you'll have to do this to mount the seat anyway. I got some new seats from a BII and have to drill & tap for my Splash.

i had an 85 ranger and i put buckets from a stang in it and it was way way worst than the ole bench leg room was non existent

I cut out the back wall on mine to get some leg room...but I wouldn't recommend it unless you're real good with welding and body work...which I'm not...yet...so I bought a truck with an extended cab and was going to throw it on till I found out the frame is way different and I would have had to cut the cab and remount the mounts...

I ended up just swapping everything over to the extended cab...way better...

the 60/409 bench seats ARE "buckets" the drivers side of the seat simply has a "side porch" on it to hang over the driveshaft hump
