Will Dorman 917-551 Manual Transmission Shift Re-Build Kit fix loss of 5th and reverse gears?

Looking at those pictures the springs are in the iron parts where the shifter engages to the outer shift rails, you can see the round provisions in your first picture. I've never taken that assembly apart or had a reason to yet but it has to be a weaker spring on one side versus the other.

Once I had one of the two pins that align the shifter to the transmission break, it shifted very weird... bushings were also shot. That kit is a good start as it comes with all of the wear parts.
DANG!... I think that's what's happened to me... put in the Dorman kit @ 80k miles, left the old pins in place "cuz they looked OK"... (and seemed to be a pain to back out)...

... now just 12k miles later, SUPER-floppy, and it came on kinda SUDDENLY... 🤦‍♂️ #FookMi!

I had to replace it all. Easy fix. The plastic was all chewed up and the pins were loose.
