will an Innova 3030 work for reading all Ranger codes?

I've borrowed an Innova 3030 CAnOBD2 code reader from a buddy to take with me when I go look at Rangers. Does anyone use this particular code reader?

I was doing research into buying one, but I was overwhelmed with the amount of choices:
Autel MS309 $18 basic OBD2 reader
Autel ML619 $100 has ABS and SRS. Do I need this for a Ranger?

Innova has way too many choices: 3120, 3160, 3011, 3020 and there seem to be sub-models that have a letter after the model number. These must be older/out of stock since the Innova website did not list them as current models.

Foxwell NT301, $70. This one seemed promising. Got 4.5/5 stars on Amazon over 20,000 reviews. Anyone have any experience with this one?

Then there are the ones that are just a scanner that is read with a smart phone app:
TorquePro seems to be the most often mentioned/recommended software.
An Elm327 and Vgate Scan scanner were 2 that I found mentioned on this site, but I think they don't read all the codes. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I suppose it depends on the model year?

Performance Scan Tool W2976 is available at my FLAPS for $47, less on Amazon, but there's shipping.

I'm staying away from Harbor Freight for now.

I guess I'm confused about what I really need for a Ranger. Please let me know. Thanks!

Do a little searching on FORScan... buy a Bluetooth adaptor... download the app and use you smart phone.

Forscan is the way to go for Rangers and Fords in general. I have it on my laptop with an ELM cable. Code readers are good if you intend to use it on other vehicles

The harbor freight reader is great, I have the can & obd2 + abs one.

I have two Innova and they work on everything I have ever tried them on

I have the Foxwell and it works fine for me. I also have Forscan on my laptop with an elm cable but that was used more for adaptations on my wife’s newer Edge. I added navigation to the Sync system.
