I'm considering doing the shackle swap on my 97 ranger. it currently has monoleafs and sits sorta low now. The guy before me already drilled out the rivets, so theres already bolts holding the shackles in, so my question would be this; if i do the shackle flip with the mono leafs will it sit tooo low, ex. will it hit the bottom of the bed or anything like that? thanks for the help

General rule of thumb is: a shackle flip will drop the bed 2" more than than it is right now. Do you have more than 2" to spare between the top of the axle & the rubber frame bumpers above the rear axle.? Also, do you have more than 2" to spare above the rear wheels when the truck bottoms out? And another thing: if the shackles aren't original, they could hit the bottom of the bed if they're longer. Let the other guys give you some ideas also. :icon_confused:

thanks for the info, i'll probably go ahead with the flip, but i'll wait till spring to do it when its not 20 degrees out :)
