Will a "late" hood work on a '97 Ranger?

Argh - got a big nasty dent in the hood of my '97 Ranger.
Local ads have a fiberglass hood for a 2004 Ranger...
Now I know the grill is different, but are the mounting pads the same or different? Will the thing physically bolt up?

You can bolt an 87 hood to the hinges. Getting it to close is the problem.

I do believe it will work. IIRC putting the power-dome Edge hoods on late Gen3 trucks is a popular mod with the streeters.
