Will a cold air intake box improve the performance of an after market high flow intake filter?

I got up this morning and checked. Yup, it's still a plain Jane 3.0 liter Ford Vulcan V6. And really, that's not so bad. Much as I love street rods, I like a basic truck that goes out and quietly goes about its job. The high flow air intake, the dual exhausts, the cheap chip are all simple ways to get a few more horses and a few more miles per gallon. I'm in this for the long haul. Simple small changes are well worth the doing. I expect that come spring, I will be doing more.

Maybe, just maybe, some day in the very far flung future, I will put something else under the hood.

Ford's got 'em alright: electric crate motors designed to make EV conversions easy. Dubbed Eluminator, it was unveiled at the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas. The electric motor itself comes from the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT which can be ordered online for 3,900 US dollars. That's a very reasonable price for 281 hp; and in a compact package too.

This would be a real street rod. If I remember correctly, a gen II Ranger regular cab weighs 500 lbs less than a Mustang. But, let's not forget it's also just perfect for hauling chickens or delivering pies.

Last time I checked, they were all sold out.
