Will a chome front bumper from a 2000 fit 2007?

Well, I've had the truck for a few months now I'm ready to change a few things.
The first thing to go is the black grille for a chrome one.
That leaves the black bumper which I would like to do something with.
I'd either like to make the bumper 2 tone like the 2009 or go with a chome one like in 2000.
Does anyone how far back a front bumper will interchange?

all 98+ bumpers are interchangeable. BUT, they only interchange with all the associated bumper bracketry. Basically, from the frame forward is interchangeable.

Short answer to your question: Yes. a 2000 bumper will fit an 07.

I suggest against going to such an old style bumper. IMO, it'll make the truck look super outdated. I suggest either body color painting your existing upper bumper cover. This will make it look like an 07 XLT or Sport, espicially if you add the chrome grille. Or putting on a 01-05 Chrome upper bumper, and the matching valence. Hey, you can even upgrade to having foglights.

'08 XLT (XLT chrome grille, XLT/Sport painted upper bumper cover, 08+ round fogs) All stock to the truck.

04-05 XLT (4x4 chrome upper, textured valence w/ square fogs, 4x4 XLT chrome grille) All stock.

You can get creative with it too using some paint....01-05 XLT bumper, 01-03 edge valence...

What I'm trying to show you is that there's other options out there that'll work for your truck. On the 01-05's, pay attention to the rear edge in front of the tire. They're specific to the valence/bumper. I just showed a couple options...there's more out there. I didn't list the non-fog bumpers.

ive seen some 01-03 rangers with the 00 bumper and that looks ... imagine yours with the raised hood and that bumper would look worst.
i would go with the painted 07 bumper

I'm really digging the way the orange truck is hooked up.
I think I'll get some prices on getting the upper part of my bumper painted body color and possibly my mirrors too.
The fog lights I can take or leave...probably leave unless I stumble accross the 08 lower bumper in a junk yard for cheap.
I already installed a chrome differential cover and I ordered the chrome grille, chrome wheel skins, and chrome door handle overlays.
That's probably all the chrome I want to add before it starts looking tacky.
I understand my truck is a base model but I'm trying to make it not look so cheap.
With a few changes I can have the best of both worlds, simplicity in a good looking package.

Cool. Sounds like a plan. Keep in mind, if you want good looking chrome cap mirrors, you'll have to get new mirror housings. I've got your mirrors on my truck....all textured plastic. The mirrors with caps have an countersunk area that cap clips into.

The orange '08 I posted IMO is well planned out....just enough chrome, just enough black...looks good. It has those door handle and tailgate chrome covers too. It makes just enough of a difference to look bling, yet not be tacky.

Your existing valence can be converted to have fogs....though, 06-07 square fogs. But still. Just sayin'.

His name's George and he went by the SN "Boomer" followed by a bunch of numbers over at Ranger-Forums. He got rid of the truck about a year ago. Was located in the Tacoma, WA area I believe.
