My 97 Ranger still has the factory AM/FM cassette deck. Browsing through Craigslist today, I found a factory CD unit for a Ranger for cheap. Are there any issues with a 99 factory stereo fitting into a 97?

First post, my wife inherited the Ranger from her father. It's a 97 Ranger regular car stepside 2.3L with only 44K miles on it, it's time warp. I ditched the 14" deer hoof rims and went with 15" wheels off a 99 Ranger.

I believe the plugs were changed in 1998 , so no it won't work without modifying the connectors.

Yeah I would say it should fit... because they had pretty much the same dash from 95 - 2010. However I would grab your radio removal tools and take it out and then compare them plug wise then install the other one and make sure it works.

i say it will work. i installed my 99 oem radio on my moms 03 ranger and works fine. its the same connectors.
