i was just curious to see if a hockey puck lift would pass safety lol
thanks

a friend of mine did a 5" body lift on his 81' chevy pickup, using hockey pucks. turned out allright.

I know in my state, anything over 3"s is illegal. It is very dangerous. 3''s is even. Buy the lift, comes with the proper length pucks that are very strong along with all hardware. I doubt you will be much more into a proper lift than half assing one together.

It usually depends on your state. As far as actual hockey pucks, I'm not sure if they're illegal, but I'd hope so.

I don't think any State, Province, Territory, etc... would pass a hockey puck lift. (at least i hope not)

Besides....by the time you buy the 36 some-odd pucks, grade 8 bolts with nuts, and all else associated with lifting it, you'll come close to the purchase price of a proper body lift kit.

FWIW, I once did a lift by stacking 2 pucks per mount (gasp!) and within 2 years, they were rotting/cracking and collapsing. Certainly not a safe situation..........

Exactly. How cheap ya gonna be? :dunno:

I added one puck on top of my stock body mount bushings about 2 years ago and they are starting to crack now. I added them to stop the pulley on my york compressor from hitting the underside of my hood. I'm going to buy a 1" body lift to replace them with relatively soon I think. Stacking them just seems plain stupid to me though, and body lifts in general seem worthless unless you are using them to aid fitment of something OTHER than tires.

real nhl spec pucks are fine for 1 inch.

sure mine are 15 years old and cracked....but the real pucks they were on broke in half.

600 k and shit tons of weight and sickening trail abuse and still on there under my bed in the front.

real nhl spec pucks are key. alot of jeeps have them for 1 in bl..and dont even know they are nhl pucks

to the question a 3 in hopefully wont but a 1 in likely will.
