Will a 3.0L engine and transmission from a ford aerostar fit a 1997 Ranger 2/wheel drive?

Considering that the Aerostar is an RBV ( Ranger Based Vehicle), it is very likely that most, if not all, parts should fit fairly well.
a bit off topic, how's Ft Gordon?
I too would think the Aerostar engine & tranny should fit a Ranger. some accessories may differ.
