ok i think i might have found a killer deal. 4 265/75R16 tires, hardly used, with nice tread for $125. the guy says he wants to lift more so they are of no use to him.

my question is, will they fit? I got an 89 extended cab 2wd with a 3" body lift. I know my gearing will be out of whack but im waiting for an 8.8 before i get my 4.88's and 35's (these 31.6's or whatever they actually are will only be a temporary tire since im broke right now haha).

thanks in advance guys

ok well i ended up getting 32x11.50x16 super swamper TSL's instead since it was a wayyy better deal (all 4 with more than 80% tread for $50!!!). supposedly, according to this metric-to-american tire size converter i found, my new tires are only .4" bigger than the lt265/75R16's. but i have a feeling its alot more than that. these things look BIG and im not really sure if theyre gonna fit with only a 3" body lift. has anybody else used these tires? im looking for the minimum amout of lift, just enough to clear the bigger tires (think trophy truck).

nobody?

oh and also, will i be good with a 16x8" rim?

well as long as the back spacing is correct and you're not hitting the frame or anything like that with them, then the body should clear with some fender trimming i would think. like you said, your gearing is gonna really suck till the new gears go in. 8" rim width should be ok for those tires. :icon_thumby:

ok cool. 16x8 rims it is.

and after pulling some serious hills today with the v6 and stock tires... im pretty sure that with the new tires the gearing is going to be BEYOND MISERABLE! but thats ok, its all the more reason to swap in a 347 stroker lol

thanks dude
