My 87 Bronco II exhaust has been hacked up pretty bad and is on my repair list.

The 3 bolt oval Y pipe flange and Cat flange have been cut off , 2 smaller diameter pipes installed between two and welded up like a rock from a Roswell New Mexico crash site.

I am finding the factory 1990 Y pipe and Cat would bolt right in but cost about $400 with factory type cat.

If the 2.8 y pipe with the round 2 hole flange fits the 2.9 manifolds the Cat options and cost change quite a bit.

Well i think i found a answer in this thread.

My 87 y-pipe flange has been cut off , two smaller pipes welded between the y-pipe and cat so i would need to get a new y-pipe and a very expensive cat.(I think this restricts my exhaust)
I think my cat is shot with almost 200,000 miles on it , the truck is a bit slow and stinks going up long hills.
If i can use a 2.8 y-pipe with a round flange i can use a cheaper aftermarket cat .
