wierd gas gauge problem.

ok, ive had two rangers in the last two years that the gas gauge didnt work. i know its not the ground and i know its not the gauge. when its out of the tank and i move the sending unit by hand, the gauge will move accurately. but as soon as its back in the tank it sticks at quarter of a tank. its got me stumped.

maybe you have a wire thas breaking connection, or a bad connection.
