1 1/2" = 3/4" per side WIDER!

Not enough to worry bout in my opinion for a EXCELLENT upgrade!

Exploders have a 31 spline axle shaft, where as the rangers are 28. a great upgrade, IMHO

I measured that yesterday when I was looking over my new axle, lol. My disk brake explorer axle is 1.75" wider overall then my 10" drum ranger 8.8".

58"wide 97' Ranger - 59.75"wide 97' Explorer

hey guys im a noob in the ranger world and my diff just broke on me...does that 8.8 from the explorer have the same bolt pattern as my 94 b3000 rwd? and is it teasy to swap?
sorry for the intrusion :S desperate for help

Yes same bolt pattern but explorers are spring under and rangers are spring over. You would have to modify the spring perches on the explorer axle to make it work.

Hey cookiemonster. You can buy a simple ranger flip kit bracket and it'll work fine as long as you aren't lifting it way up. But you will need to modify the shock mounts. Will require some welding.

If you plan on lowering it just modify the shock mounts and bolt it in over the top of the springs.

thanks for your help guys..i changed the diff for another ranger diff and guess what...IT BROKE! sooo im going for the explorer diff in the new year (y)
