I got rear ended last night in my 2WD 88. Drunk driver, hit me doing like 50 kmh, approx 30 mph then took off. His car's front end was destroyed and was spewing anti freeze EVERYWHERE. I almost caught him 'til he ran a red light. I was pretty pissed and got out to assess damage... NONE. :yahoo: The bumper on my Ranger got pushed in about a 1/4" but never touched the box! Pays to drive a little tough as balls Ranger. :thefinger: hit and runner!

At least u and ur truck are ok. Hopefully his died a few miles down the road.

His car's front end was destroyed and was spewing anti freeze EVERYWHERE.

I'm gonna assume he didn't get too far. Rangers win:D

my girlfriend backed into a neon with my ranger. all it did was break the clips off the top pad on the bumper. cant even tell. the car she hit had almost 3 grand in damages. ha~!

I'm going to guess he didn't get too far either. I tried to follow the trail of anti freeze, but it ran out. Never did end up finding the car. Oh well! Rangers to win.

I kind of wish he'd have hit my 4x4 though... would have been interesting! Ha!

even if he made it home. he prolly woke up with a hangover, a pissed off wife, and a blown motor lol

Yeah, likely. At any rate, just wanted to share with all you Ranger Stationeers my funny story. Hope you all see the humor in it too!:icon_cheers:

a classic bug rearended me once, the tow hook I had in my receiver was stuck in her headlight... dented the heck out of her trunk...

Haha, oops!
Anyone else have any stories about how their Rangers stood up against rear-enders??

My dad backed into the front of my ranger with his 06 Accord in the driveway. $125 on the truck to pull the bumper out and put a new turn signal in, $1500 on the Accord. His rear bumper was completely screwed, dented the trunk up, and ruined those fancy LED brake lights!

I got rear ended on base when the roads were solid ice. Some chick in a Land Rover hit me, and I thought I had popped the clutch at first. Smashed her grill guard into the headlights, though. I had a small scratch.:D

I almost got a date out of it, but it turned out she outranked me by 3 paygrades.:annoyed:

i was rear ended in stop and go traffic on the freeway about 2 years ago. put a little crinkle in my bumper, destroyed the front of the other car. i told him i wasnt worried about the truck, he had enough problems without me crying about my bumper. turns out karma pays you back cause when i rear ended an s10 with my escort, he told me just to replace the bumper with a junkyard bumper. only cost me about $100 to fix his truck

Some lady rear-ended my Explorer. It pushed the bumper in just a little, was hardly noticeable actually. We pocketed the money and didn't bother fixing it. My buddy then rear-ended it with his 98 Ranger. Pushed the bumper in even more, but still isn't bad at all. It's noticeable from the driver's side, but doesn't look bad. I told my buddy to not worry about it. He mangled his front bumper and cracked the grille and front turn signal.
