hi i have a 1986 eddie bauer bronco II it is a 2.9 automatic i need help finding out what tranny is in it and why does it kick its self in neutral if iam doing 55 and let off the gas any help would be great

worn body mounts? shifter out of adjustment?

can you shift back into drive or is the trans slipping in any gear? in that case check the fluid level with the engine running and trans in park on a level surface

once the truck gets back down to about forty it goes back in gear and is fine accept for that it is a nice truck i have checked the fluid it seems fine and it is not slipping at any other time i will check the body mounts sat when i pull it in the garage

when your trans shifts into overdrive it spins free. the OD band is out of ajustment and or broken, front and rear oneway bearing.

welcome to the ranger station...
