Why does God hate me? (With Transmissions anyway.)

After clearing up the issue with ATF in my clutch system, I got a new master, slave and lines.

Gravity bleed it.

Go to slide the trans in.
I have to depress the clutch to pull the throw out bearing away from the shift forks to slide it in, and for no apparent reason it just starts POURING DOT3. :pissedoff:

When you get a new slave cylinder is there some kind of special thing you got to do to it?

I put the bearing on the shaft and the rubber gasket in the side where the clutch line goes in, I thought that was it?

Depressing the pedal before sliding the trans into place?

Uhhhh... simply connnecting the line will allow the slave to
compress as you draw everything up...

why's you push on the pedal? you basically blew the piston out of it's bore...

As to rubber gasket on the side? what rubber gasket?

The O-rings on the dry-break coupler?

When I put the transmission in the first time, it wouldn't slide forward until I had depressed the pedal and it pulled the bearing back.

Unless I am thinking about ti all wrong and I've got it backwards.

So, what were getting at here is that the Slave Cylinder is going to need replaced, again?

Pressing the pedal doesnt retract the slave/bearing. It pushes it forward towards the engine. Pressing the pedal when the slave cylinder is not already compressed blows out the cylinder.

God doesn't hate you he is teaching you patience, like when you get married and have kids and inlaws.

Four years later he probably has it straightened out.

And without even being married truck problems are far easier to sort out than all the touchy feely family problems. :icon_thumby:
