Serious answer now. ALWAYS was around trucks....grandpa had a '72 Chevy 4wd on the farm. He also had a '75 Chevy 4wd with a 454....took my mom out on their first date in it. Gramps kept that '75 til I was maybe 12? Used to throw hay in the bed and tow it in the barn. I was brought home from the hospital in a '85 Toyota pickup. Parents building the house when I was 2 and needed something bigger, so in came the '79 F250 Ranger with a swapped in 429 and granny gear 4spd. Brown in color with full length polished running boards and a lumbar rack. Had one of those blanket type seat covers that virtually all old trucks have. The memories of that truck are still very clear in my mind. I remember one time he broke down(ran out of gas...it chugged the fuel i'm told) and he got stuck in themiddle of no where. Now, it's nothing but houses 2ft apart all around. When I was 15, asked dad about what happened to that truck I fell in love with when I was 2 until 8ish or so I'd say. He remembered the man and the farm it went to and his town. I've called this man yearly about my old truck. I have every intention of getting my truck back someday and hopefully having a father-son project that we never really had. Lots of sentimental value to me. Owner virtually said it's my truck whenever I come and get it.
My point is.....I've ALWAYS been in trucks and will always be in trucks. Ever since that first Ford experience, there's always a place in my heart for Ford. Yeah, I had my moments in Jeeps and Internationals, Toyotas and Chevys, but it seems as though I always come back to Fords. Maybe someday, I'll get my old truck back before old Doc passes. But for now, I'll just put those same seat covers in my Ranger. It's as close as I can get to that truck right now.
And well...I'm in a truck because well....cars are ghey. Most of them anyway. Especially if the engine says VTEC. lol. I like to take vehicles off the road....cars don't do too well in that department.
