um..0.o what? Thats what cars were all about all along..ESPECIALLY after WW2. Note the increase in size and detail through the years of the fins and the hood ornaments as just small examples of that. And then you have trim stuff of course like bigger engines, better interiors, "automatic transmissions" haha, a macktruck load of chrome over EVERYTHING..that kind of stuff. All of that was the technology that brought the bling and the 'wow' factor and also why the 50's generation of vehicles are so awesome!

+1, It was all about bling and being bigger and better than the neighbors.

I am into about everything old, right now my Ranger is parked between dad's '57 Chevy Bel-Air 4dr and my brother's '68 VW. A 1955 Chevy pickup is the best looking pickup built IMO. I also have 3 tractors that range from 1946 to 1953.

I comparing to the horsepower races of the big three in the 60' and 70's that made everyone so I hate ford or I hate chevy or mopar or no car. Before that it was ok to have chevy ford and dodge and like all three without someone poking fun. They was just cars. I mean sure there was still racing going on between cars other wise Nascar would have never happened. But I sure you can see what i'm getting at.

them's some good lookin rides.........but personallly......I don't go for them new-fangled fancy lookin vehicles...................

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahhaahhahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa....weeze.....

That went on way before the 60's and 70's.

And it's going on now. At least the horsepower race part of it. The cars aren't really that cool looking IMO. They look like caricatures of the 60-70s cars but Ford, Chevy, and Chrysler are still at it. That's why I like my 2005 GTO. Because it's not an attempt to be a retro 60-70s GTO. This it my other project:
