i lost my brakes today , so i blead them still the noise and no brakes i looked under the pedal assembly area and there is a cyl and the air is coming from there as the brake pedal is pushed , all my lines are good and fluid is topped ,
#1 its the booster
#2 is it easier to replace , repair or the whole master cyl ?
#3 need some referal info as to a good place to get a repair, replacement
thanks this is my daily driver and not trying to spend a fortune or if anyone has one for sale im in the market , my truck is a 87 ranger ext cab 2.9 liter 4x4 thanks again

If your booster went, then you would still have brakes, they would just be harder to actuate the same braking force. You would have to press harder on the pedal.

Sounds to me like the Master is bypassing internally.
AKA, Buggered master.
Mine did the same thing, right after I nuked a front flexline.

Make sure to replace with a new master, not a remanufactured unit. Less chance for failure IMO.

I have the samething with my 84... except the brakes are fine operate like normal it just hisses when i push down. Doesn't drop down. Does your brake pedal drop to the floor when you hit them?

yea mine goes to the floor slowly and i do have brakes but have to press real hard and they arent like they were i mean if someone hits the brakes in front of me then they are being ran over , the truck will come to a stop but by pressing hard so i would have to say they do go to the floor

well i replaced the whole master cyl assembly and i have breaks

Then I would say that you have a failed booster.
