Or Amsoil or the like?

I use RP and it really does keep the engine a little cooler and it revs a little more freely. I also go 10K between oil changes, but still change just the filter and top it off every 3-4K.

I never bought into the "every 3000 miles" crap that the evil oil industry tried to trick us into. If it didn't get so hot in the desert, I'd probably change the purple out very 12K or so.

I'm actually starting to burn a little oil now at 72K, but not much.

i use it in my diffs now and when my 302 is done getting put in i plan to use it with it too.

I put it in my rearend a few years ago. Couldn't really tell you if it made a difference or not, but my pinion leaks a bunch even though the seal was changed (or I was told it was changed..)

Amsoil in my rear axle and Mobile 1 in the motor, the 2 best synthetics :icon_thumby:

I use royal purple in everything. Engine, diffs, trans, transfer. I first noticed that when I put it in the rear diff and tranny that it did feel smoother and I didnt have a lot of that gear hesitation when shifting. Went as smooth as butter. I also couldnt tell you when any of the other fluids were changed in my truck either so I cant really compare this to fresh oil from another company

How hard is it to put in the gearbox and differential? I think I may do that.

rear diff you need to remove the cover to drain the old fluid then reseal. The t/c and trans have drain plugs on them. The front diff needs to be manually removed with a pump. I did my whole truck in about a half hour.

I use Royal Purple in every engine. Chainsaw, lawn mower, truck, blower, and anything else I can thing of.

The Ranger got the RP treatment at 90k miles and still going. But instead of the 12k mile change and 3K mile filter change & top-off. I go only 5k miles and do a full change. Transmission goes 25k miles and diff goes 50k miles.

I love the stuff. Use the 2-stroke mix and put it in the weed eater, you'll notice the difference. SyncroMax makes shifting smoother and better at colder climates.

To do the transmission, you are most likely need a oil hand pump to pump the oil back in. Draining is no problem.

evil oil industry ? lol, does anyone know why you need to change your oil? Its because the synthetic additives can only absorbe so much contaminants befor it stops doing any good. I take it your engine runs a lot cleaner after the switch, and doesnt contaminate the oil now?

Amsoil for me,I run strictly amsoil in the diffs and lucas oil additive. I run quaker state 4x4 blend in the motor. I haven't switched to royal purple HOWEVER, a gallon of amsoil gear oil up here goes for around 40 bucks..Royal purple i hear is 50 bucks a gallon, so thats why i don't bother with it heh. the tcase and tranny get the Canadian "Mister Transmission ATF"

RP makes an ATF type of fluid for the tcase and manual tranny? Reason i ask is because i fear putting gear oil in em. Or am i wrong to assume that the manual tranny gets gear oil? I have ATF in it right now :P

i had a buddie that says he had to run 150w gear lube just to keep it in the motor because it leaked so badly....

as for my vehicles. i put whatever i come across for cheap into them, i tend to do irrepairable damage long before my fluids ever become an issue.
