My fiance is doing a research paper for school about palladium, a rare metal with many applications, one of the most common being cat converters. She trying to track down some of the largest buyers of palladium, but running into a bit of a wall...

Does anyone know where ford gets the cat converters they're using (or do they manufacture them in-house...)? The name of a company making converters on a large scale would be very helpful.

palladium? look into stark industries.....

Just use Google. It will be faster and more info there. Good luck to your gf with the paper.

Magnaflow makes catalytic convertors. I'm not sure who is supplying the manufacturers though.

Most catalytic converters are made around Toronto... there's at least 3 very large companies around there. Nett Technologies and DCL are two companies I know about... there are a couple more companies I've worked with that aren't coming to me though...

No, but it IS funny. And ronclark, have you not seen any of the Iron Man movies?

oh, i have seem Iron Man movies. i just have to add to the useless info:icon_rofl:

buyers

The biggest single buyers are the scap guys in old beat up trucks, they hit every muffler shop in town, and buy them up, at least twice a week, then some sell them back to the remanufactures or strip them out them selves, the old chevy pellet ones where there favs for many years, when I work for volkswagon of america after warranty they where just tossed out, I have a friend that brings me all the electric motors out of his GM warranty bin, since steering, seats, windows, and every thing is by motor I make an extra $40 a month on scrapping them, the only done side is the dust from the grid type are a health risk
