Who makes a good A/C Compressor?

What brand of A/C compressor would be the best for my '90 Ranger 2.3l? My compressor is shot and I need to replace it but I was wondering ...What is a good brand? I'm switching to 134 from R12 and I'm wanting to change what ever I need to change. I was thinking about getting a kit w/ compressor, dryer and orifice tube, is that all I need to change and what is the best brand for my truck? I want good parts so hopefully I'll never have to do this again....I'm getting to old. I see 4 seasons compressors and kits everywhere but are they good or is another brand better? Any input will be greatly appreciated.

I don’t know about brand, but there are a few types of compressors. When I did my 03 Marquis, RA gave me the option between reciprocating and scroll. I’d bet these older vehicles only have reciprocating as an option, but the scroll types are supposed to be better all around. There’s many other types, but these two are the only types I’ve seen in cars.
