Before I moved from Ohio, I had a lot of 'spare parts' in my shop that I had to get rid of. Heck, my best friend for years was into Chevy S-10's and had a garage stuffed full of spare parts. You could probably build a complete truck or three.

Question 1: Who here is stock piling spare Ford Ranger parts?

Question 2: Of the ones stock piling Ford Ranger parts, who has the most?

Question 3: Do any of you dare share pics of your stockpile?

Question 4: For the members here, which forum member do YOU THINK has stockpiled the most spare Ford Ranger parts?

It seems to me that either Ryan or Shran might win that one. At least that is the impression I get.

I've saved a few used but good parts here and there, but nothing in the way of a stock pile.

I’ll have to make a list when I finally unload the garage and sheds to bring everything to the new house. What’s our bandwidth limit?

My top picks are going to be @PlumCrazy and @lil_Blue_Ford.

Ryan drives a Jeep.?
Ehh, I have a small collection, I’m sure there’s people who have more stuff on here. I’m out of spare D-35 shafts. Think I only have one D-35 pumpkin. Two complete D-28’s that I’m not really sure are worth keeping. Broken 7.5” that will probably be scrap. Small collection of sheet metal and some doors for a project. Couple engines and trans for cores. Couple parts trucks. And my fleet. Some stuff is going to be thinned out this year. I was going to run a D-28 in my 88 like is currently in it, but I’m thinking I’d rather swap D-35 and then all of my RBVs with TTB will have the 35 and I can simplify my parts stock. I’m getting to the point where I’m going to want to play around with Superduty axles, I see no point in keeping a D-28 alive in my fleet. I’m amazed that there are Chro-moly axles for the D-28 now. It’s a long-dead axle.

I’m also intending to not keep any 7.5” rears in my fleet and stick with the 8.8”. I may go as far as eventually going to disk brake 8.8” in every RBV that keeps “stock” axles. It’s nice when one part fits multiple vehicles. Throw a new one of every commonly used part on a shelf in the shed and you can fix almost every common ailment at a moments notice. When multiple vehicles use the same parts, like brakes, you don’t have to stock much.

You may have a point on those two. I seem to remember the two I listed always seeming to have something on hand for something or other RBV related.
I got tired of always running to the parts store so I built my own parts store. It’s not as maintained as it once was though because I’ve gotten spoiled with being a commercial customer there now so I get deliveries.

:dunno:

I mainly "stockpile" hard to find stuff I figure was going to dry up someday. Arm rests, fuse panel twist lock things, D35 hubs, OHC parts and the like.

My bank account is woefully empty and my Ranger parts stockpile matches it perfectly

I have no money and no bank account and no spare parts at all.

In fact I need to save up money just to do anything. I'm sure my truck needs brakes right now along with shocks and bunch of other stuff.

Not having a job is getting old quickly.

I've been putting getting a job off because I'm trying to go to Sinclair community college for welding or auto mechanics or something related to those fields.
However it seems like every time I think they're going to start me in some assessment classes to see how good my math and reading skills are there's another hurdle to jump through.
I'm working on getting financial assistance right now. Got to keep jumping through these hurdles.

As for who I think might be stockpiling the most parts I have no idea I've never met any of the members in person and haven't ever seen any other stock files.

I got to say that everybody's treated me well though I really do like this form and all these threads.

If you need to brush up on math or any other school skills I highly recommend;
khanacademy.org

Its free too.

Thank you for the advice @alwaysFlOoReD . I've always been pretty good at math it's just the dyslexia kills me when it comes to reading and writing.
I can't spell save my life I rely on the spell checker a lot.

Don't get me wrong guys I do work. I just don't have a real job.
My brother gives me a few odd jobs here and there.
And I've turned down a bunch of mechanical work when I'm at the salvageyard i.e. PickYourPart.
The reason why I turn down work when I'm there is because I don't want to be responsible for someone's vehicle.
When I know I'm truly not educated and know everything about what I'm doing.

Right now the worst part of my situation is January February March are my brother's slow months.
So he hasn't had as much side work for me to do. I'm going to be hurting to pay bills this month.
But somehow it will all work out.

Sorry @Jim Oaks I didn't mean to hijack your thread and take it off in a new direction.
