white smoke

Its burning something...
 
Burning air doesn't make smoke.
 
Did you pull the spark plugs and look at them? Do that and post pics of the tips so we can see what they look like.
 
Looks like an oil burner.
 
Yea those plugs are fouled with oil. That would explain the weird mud as well... either the rings are shot or the valve guides/seals are gone.

Next step would be compression test.
 
When oil burns in a motor it comes out as a very light blue colored smoke. That could be mistaken as white, especially if there is condensation from a cold engine in cold air temperatures.
