I cut my air box open and now I hear a whistling noise when I'm driving and certain RPM's. Has anyone else had this happen?

Never had this happen to me, but then again, I've never cut open my air box. Try taping over it with some duct tape. It sounds like the air might just be whistling through the slit. If you tape it up, it should go away. Keep us posted!

This one's been floating on the interwebs for a while. Al you have to do is remove the silencer, but make sure you put the rubber surround back behind the headlight, so it continues sucking cold exterior air not underhood air. Something like this:

I've noticed a bit more thottle response and it seems peppier at the upper RPMs, but I have a 3.0 and it likes the higher RPMs anyways. I haven't noticed a difference either way for mileage. The intake itself is only so big, so opening a big hole is kinda pointless.

I did that and was only slightly impressed with the changes. Thats why I cut the thing open, to let the air get right in there. I took the rubber piece out because it was more or less pointless to have afterwards. I cut the front from the hole to the passenger side about half way. I also have a piece of foam board between the airbox and the engine bay to block some heat. It defidentally seems to breath a lot better.
