Whinning in Rear?

Put a 4.56 into my 7.5 few years ago. Finally got around to putting in a limited slip and used the same 4.56 gears. Now they "sing" between 30 and 40 mph. What gives? Are they just worn or what. I don't get it. Desperate help!

Did you check your gear pattern before and after installing the new limited slip carrier?

Sounds like your pattern is off and the gears are now noisy.

^ thats what i was thinking, you have to recheck everything after changing the carrier out because the factory shims are machined for the orignal carrier and are not universal.

Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you get gear whine.

If the rear end starts whining can it be fixed so it will do it no longer?
