Yes, I am working on a converted 1995 ranger with a built 2.3L engine(1995) w/obdII turbo. It's a friend of mines' truck...

we are running the sniper kit to tune the fuel and spark.

Also, the truck has 36 lb injectors too.

With the stock pump, we can only run around 7lbs max boost before the fuel pressure falls off.

What are the options for a walbro pump? which part number, and which install kit can be used? Does the mustang kit fit these pump assemblies? ect...

Thanks!

Jonn

yeah, just use an in-tank pump for the mustang. that's what I am running.

Sweet! that helps a lot!

I wish the catalogs would say ranger in them....most of them only list mustangs :)

cheers

btw...we are running 35 lbs injectors from a 1989ish t-bird turbo....are they high or low impedance? and which came stock on this 1995?

in other words, do they match?(are the 1995 and 1989 the same impedance?)

another quick question...

is it normal for 7psi to be the mac with the stock fuel pump?

which year of mustang walbro pumps will fit?

Those injectors will not work with your ECU they are low impedance. Well, they may for a time, but low impedance injectors are known to fry high impedance injector drivers, so your ECU will be toast in a short time. Your ECU is high impedance.

That seems a bit low to be maxing out. I ran 18 lbs on an IHI and I think the stock pump kept up with it. I'm not sure which year will fit a 95, I'm guessing a 95 mustang pump would do the trick. I don't remember the range of years of mustang mine was listed for, but it like 86-93 or something, and it worked for my 88.

okay, I found the problem...

we were maxing out the maf sensor....the sniper showed that we were at 5v when at 7psi, that's why it would suddenly go lean for no reason.

so i ordered the bazooka sniper 95mm maf, and installed it....and reprogrammed it withthe sniper, and then it wouldn't idle properly....

it idled fine before...what's the deal here?

The resolution at idle of a 95mm maf on a 2.3 is going to be pretty poor. I am having issues calibrating my maf which is in a 4" housing. Unless your intake setup is exactly the same is the setup that generated the MAF transfer function for your MAF, there will be some error, and a little error with a MAF that big can spell trouble.

What is your voltage at idle and your voltage at WOT?

voltage at idle is around 0.8-1v, and we haven't run it at WOT yet, because the idle was so poor....

btw, by poor, I mean, it idles rough for about 30 seconds, and then stumbles so much that it stalls...

yes, there is a wideband in the car...

when first starting up...it seems to be between 14.5-15.5 AFR, after around 30 seconds...it goes lean....

My first thought is that the transfer function is off enough to make the engine not run, but when you first start it, the after-start enrichments are making it idle around 15:1 for the first 30 seconds. Then the after-start timer runs our and it starts calculating fueling off of MAF trandfer function alone, causing it to run lean and killing it.

Try multiplying all values of the transfer function by 1.3 or maybe even 1.5 and see if it will idle. Let us know what happens to the AFRs when you do that.

okay, I think I figured out the problem...I needed to install the filter(it needed a smaller diameter inlet to get a proper signal). now it idles fine.

New problem though...now as soon as the engine is under load, it loads up with fuel, and bogs down.

any advice?

well there is a good chance that your transfer function is not accurate, it could be over-reporting airflow at higher airflow rates.
