Thanks for all the info

I am going to have a machineshop take out the old u-joints and I am picking up new ones today. I saw on Autozones website there are two different ones, one with a 1.188" dia. bearing cap and one with a 1.063" bearing cap. Does anyone know which one I would need (1996)

Also I could not find part numbers for the seals that go on the end of the shaft stub (that goes into the knuckle/spindle) and also I need a seal for one of the spindles (that seals off the needle bearing in the spindle)

If anyone has a timken # or a Autozone/NAPA part number for these two different seals it would be MUCH appreciated..

thanks
Royce

i would imagine being a 1996 its going to have a dana 35 in the front, so you will probably need the larger diameter caps, but if you have a set of calipers then you should easily be able to measure them. as far as the seals go they could be tricky to find. my cataloging (autovalue/bumper to bumper) only lists the inner (differential) and outer seals (actually the inner wheel seals), so a trip to your local dealer might be in your future.

You want the larger ones. Parts stores have all their shit mixed up, the smaller u-joints are for the D28 which they stopped using in 90.

yeah, the electonic cataloging seems to do that way to often. my favorite is when it lists a part number, but then there is no quantity available and no pricing. why the hell did some one waste their time to enter that? even when i was looking up the joints for him they had options for a dana 28 listed.............durrrrrrrr...
