A Ranger with the small 14 inch tires and 3.45 gearing or a ranger with the p235 15 75r tires and 4.10 gearing?
If not a draw between both I am thinking the one with 235 15 75 4.10 gearing might be a little more suited for towing but the bigger tires and heavier suspension would add drag so yeah I think it's a draw.

It depends what they are towing adn where. If towing a long distance and do not expect to hit lots of hills on the way( Houston to ElPaso comes to mind) I would run with the 3.45s if you are planning on any hills while towing the 4.10s would be a better bet. Even in stop and go driving the 3.45s will yeaild better MPG on any amount of distance it may just dog down hiting any hills or initial take off.

That is a completely useless number for a comparison. With a small enough tire I could have the same final drive ratio on 3.45s as I could on 4.10s.

All trucks have mechanical advantage. What do you think gears are for?

Your question isn't phrased in a meaningful way.
235/75/15 tire size x 4.12 gear ratio = 235/55/14 x 3.45
The mechanical advantage is equal.
They both have the same tire width at 9.3" but the 14" tire would have slightly less tire touching the pavement because of different circumference....so slightly less traction and rolling resistance.
But,
the 14" would have slightly better fuel mileage because the truck would be 2" lower as well as smaller wheel mass.
