Which tranny will fit?

I got a 1990 ranger 2x4 2.3 5 speed, which years will interchange with my tranny?

1988 and up ranger 2x4 with 2.3l Lima engine, and 2.5l from '98 to '01 will work as well, 2.3l above 2001 is not a Lima engine.
Mazda M50D-R1 is the trans, but 2.3/2.5l Lima engines have/need a specific bolt pattern for bell housing/block trans hook up.

The Mazda M50D-R1 doesn't have a removable bell housing, this trans was used for 2.9l, 3.0l and 4.0l models as well but these will not bolt up to 2.3l block

So anything 88-01 is going to have the same dimensions and bolt pattern, I'm not worried about the Speedo I got a GPS with a Speedo anyways

Yes.

If you can find one from '88-'94 it will have the speedo gear
