I am torn between choosing a suspension kit right now. I am new to the offroad fabrication scene so any help will be apriciated. I was thinking of getting this Autofab kit http://www.autofab.com/2wd_ranger_wheel_travel.htm this seems like a good set up except i wanted to get extened beams not bent. but it looks like a good starting kit for me because i am new to all this. However I am also looking at threats equal length kit.
I have around 3000 to spend. The autofab kit with shocks comes out right under 3000. but then i could get the threat kit with the crossover stearing and shocks for around 3500. Im not sure if i should just skip the "beginer" suspension and go right to the equal length kit. If anyone has pitures of the autofab kit it would be great i havnt heard much about it. I havnt heard anything but good things about threat so any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks:dunno:

Have you looked into or thought about getting a used kit? It would probably save you a bunch of money that could go into your rear suspension. I've heard good things about Autofab but if you plan on driving really hard your going to want a fabbed system like Threat. If you haven't already jump on the forums over at www.dezertrangers.com and do some searching around. You'll find a ton of information on suspension systems for your truck.

Look into their classified ads also for people selling used kits and shocks. The classifieds over on www.racedezert.com are good as well.

Hope this helps.

yeah i have been looking around forr stuff but id rather have a complete kit then putting a whole bunch of ragtag parts together. no ofence to anyone else.

Go with threat... I had a unequal length kit on my old ranger.. It did great (except for the crap 2wd hubs and wheel bearings).. I had an autofab kit on my F-150.. I had numerous welds start peeling away on the radius arms and the radius arm mount brackets. (didn't hit anything or crash) just normal abuse.

Oh and Dave will stand by his work. If you have any issue just call the guy and he is jumping through hoops.....

John, not so much.....
