Which muffler would sound best on a single in dual out system on a 2002 4.0, flow master super 44, flow master 40, magnaflow, or cherry bomb extreme? Its got to be loud but not "ricey" Im just talking about the muffler, nothing else.

don't get the cherry bomb. they have never sounded deep enough. i would go for the flow master 40

Really any chambered welded muffler will sound pretty good on a 4L.

Depending on your tastes, go a chambered for loud, remove the resonator for louder, but imo you don't need to unless you want f'in loud.
Croot

Truthfully.....mine is quiet inside the cab. I can hear it from time to time...but it definitely doesn't drone on the highway. I get the sound without the annoyance.....lucky I guess.

i like the sound of flowmasters but they rust way to fast.

Any of the flowmasters will sound good.

Delta flow 40 if you like quiet. Only you will know you started your truck.

Original 40 if you like moderately loud, and your dog likes to know you actually left for work that day.

Super 40 if you like loud, and your neighbors do to.

thrush mufflers have the same problem. i got the thrush turbo. gives it a great low rumble but will probably wear out in 7 years. but for 30 bucks. its a good deal

I've got a Thrush welded and it's solid. Had it on there through three Wisconsin winters so far, and I don't see any rust problems happening any time soon. And yeah, $30 compared to the price of a Flowmaster was a pretty easy decision for me.

my damn magnaflow has a loose baffle or something, if i get it to the right rpm's the thing rattles really loud. but it was free to me, so it works for now

the welded ones are a way better deal. a lot more solid than the turbo...being welded in all. that one will probably last forever. i just didn't feel like paying the extra 20 bucks for it.

I've got a Cherrybomb glasspack on mine, I like both the sound and the low end torque increase. Plus, I can put it in 5th gear on the highway and not even know it's back there. My sister has a flowmaster 10 series single chamber muffler on her Jeep TJ (also a 4.0L) and it has a really nice deep sound. Super loud though.
It's really personal preference. Look up some youtube videos of different mufflers and see which one you like best.
