To find out how much you should sell your truck for, but not actually sell it?

I can't decide if I should post it into the classified forums or just in general discussion.

Reasons why its a classified forum thread -
Its discussing the sale of a vehicle.
Its talking about money.
People who actually are looking at trucks with the "mentality to buy" would be seeing it, so the price would be more accurate.
Theres less threads in there, so it will stand out more.

Reasons why its a gen. discussion forum thread-
Nothings being sold.
More people would see it, but theres more threads in there.
Side discussions might start up, like what i could do to get a better price,as in fix the fender, change the bug shield ((those of you who have seen mine know what i mean haha)) and whether it is worth it to fix those things.

Which one would be better?

it seems to me that general discussions would be o.k since you are only trying to get idea of worth and not sell, because if you put it in classified people who go there are "looking for deals" and will be less likely to give an accuate quote, whereas in this forum post a couple of photos listing description with a hypothetical "what if " question. like, if you were to sell this truck what would you ask.

Well...

I'd say General Discussion. However, There are large differences in prices depending on what part of the workd you are from. For instance, a 2wd ranger from WNY isn't gonna be worth much: We get storms with over a foot of snow at a time and NYS dumps brine on the road. My 98 looks horrible underneath. A 2wd ranger from Florida may be worth more.

Anyhow, I'd say General discussions.

Where in Upstate NY are you from? ....5 speed or auto? ........?

its much more accurate than asking a bunch of goons on an online forum :tease:

its accurate enough that MANY car dealers post the KBB values of their used cars right in the window.

KBB sucks, nuff said.

But heres the details on the truck, i figured why waste threadspace when i can just stick it into here?
