BEFORE I GO ANY FURTHER. THE SUPER 10S ARE A NEW DESIGN FROM FLOWMASTER. THE A DELTA FLOW TECHNOLOGY. AND ARE LIKE THE CHERRY BOMB EXTREMES.

heres where im at. the ranger is going into stage 2 now.

so im putting a lunati bracket master 2 cam with a nice lopey idle.

im gonna find a gas tank and move it to the rear.

swap in a explorer 8.8 axle.

make it a stick.

but i want this thing to be nasty sounding. i have the original 40s on it lightning style. but im gonna run em all the way to the back.

so which one would you guys run?

i'd stay with the original 40 series, its the signature flowmaster sound and with the new cam it will sound like a new beast anyway. the 10 series are ridiculously loud and have a heavy drone while you drive. ive got one on my b2 because of the size and sometimes you cant hear yourself think just cruising at speed on city streets let alone highway

your thinking of the flowmaster 10 series. the super 10 are a new delta flow design thats supposed to be really loud and deep sounding.

i had the original 40's dumped for a while. it was pretty droney, but livable.

i think out the back, no matter how loud it is, it will be quiet in the cab. i mean, i have the pipes exit right behind the pass door. and the cab is really quiet.

the reason being. the mufflers are under the bed itself. not under the cab. and my whole interior is sound proofed with fat mat from floor the ceiling.

the og 40's just arent deep enough for me.

A muffler I think sounds better than the flowmaster is the Aero Turbine. Youtube it...

that aero turbine is a good sounding muffler, but ive never heard it on a v8. maybe its even more Bad Ass? i think just even running tail pipes with the current mufflers is going to change your note to something more desireable, but maybe not. i know when i did my belltech shackles and had to cut my exhaust and extend it so it wouldnt interfere with the shackle, the 8" or so of pipe i added totally changed the exhaust note and the rpms at which it becomes droning. im running a flowmaster delta 60series, but it was designed for v6 and 4 cyl engines so its really just useless info here......

The original 40 and the 10 series are the only two that will make your truck loud. The super 40 and 44 are alot more quiet. I say keep using the original 40's with the pipe ran out the back or however your gonna do it or install the 10's and leave it ran in front of the rear tires.

now why do you say to run the super 10s and leave em lightning style? because i plan to take your earlier advise and run them straight out the back with some 3.5 tips

and i was told the super 40 and 44 were deeper and louder than the og 40 but maybe im mistaken?

i just want it to sound like a worked muscle car.

its pretty quiet at idle now. i want people to know ive got something under my hood lol.

im a new york redneck

That super 10 sounds pretty good. Almost like an aero turbine

ok. let me ask this. how do the flowmaster 40's and the cherry bomb pro compare?

if sound is the ultimate goal and not power then i'd say 40 series. If power was the ultimate goal you shouldn't run a flowmaster at all. Oh shit,I just noticed it has a chevy motor with a 700r4(guessing) so I guess sound is the goal! stick with the flows or how about straight pipes, they would fit that combo perfect lol! just bustin your balls lol!!!
