Which carburator for a 2.8

[86 Ranger 5.0]

My dad wants a new carb for his 83 2.8. What kind should we get?

I had an RV cam and headers on my 84 and used a 350 holley 2bbl. Webers look and work well too on those. I had stripped mine of all the computer gadgets and used a basic Capri/Mustang Distributor from a 79 0r 80 model I think it was. It was 4x4 31 inch tires 373 gears and I actually used to pull a race car trailer with an Olds Cutlass on it 40 miles each way to the drag strip every weekend. Didn't stop for sh*t with that big load but once I got rolling I was gone!

Autolite/motorcraft with a 1.08 venturi or smaller works just fine. If it is still running on the computer doing the duraspark conversion is highly recommended if you dont need to pass smog?
