I have two blocks wondering which would be the best of the two. One is out of 86 mustang it's marked as a e7te but it has flat tops with out relief cuts? Other is a e5ae with relief cut Pistons picked it up for free don't know what it came from or year.

How are the cranks stamped? 2M, 2MAE, etc? It looks like the e7te is most likely an 87 truck motor and the e5ae is an 85 light vehicle. I am not 100 % sure as I just did some very brief research. I am by no means an expert.

86 Mustang motor is roller cam high compression motor. Was the first year of fuel injection in Mustangs, so there's a lot of information out there on them. One quirk is the flat tops without the relief, only certain heads will work and certain cams.
Having owned an 86 Mustang, I say build that motor, it will shit n git.
Can't tell you anything about the other motor sorry.

I ended up getting a running 97 explorer 5.0 with gt heads for $175!
